Genoa to Portofino Day Cruise

A beautiful cruise in the heart of the Italian Riviera

Themes: Chic/Exclusive, Family,

Genoa to Camogli to Portofino

Start in Genoa, alternatively San Remo or any of the Ports in the French Riviera.

CamogliCamogli

Hug the coast, and arrive at the beautiful port town of Camogli.  Camogli is an ageless fishing port, with a beautiful church perched on a rock outcropping and a pebbled beach on the opposited site of the port.

Walk the boardwalk, and have a morning coffee at one of the many seaside cafes.

Depending on how much time you have, either shove off soon for Portofino, or if you can, we highly recommend heading up to San Rocco for a gorgeous view.  You can take a cab or bus, or if you are energetic and have plenty of time, take the beautiful walk up the steep path.

San Fruttouso MonasterySan Fruttouso

Cruising past Camogli, follow the coast to get a great view of San Rocco, and the beautiful ligurian coast.

You`ll see an outcroppoing of smooth rocks gently sloping into the water - this is a lovely swimming place if you have the inclination!

You`ll come upon an inlet on the coast with a Monastery at the end. You can pull up to the dock and take a tour of the Monastery.

PortofinoPortofino

Again, follow the coast around the point of the peninsula, and immediately on the other side you`ll see a small opening, usually with a number of large masts visible.  This is Portofino, the most photographed port in the world, and the play area of the rich and famous.  You`ll want to walk the port, have a meal, and watch the play of the sun on the brilliantly colored buildings.

Take plenty of time here, and when done, either return back to Genoa, or, if you can, continue down the coast to the Cinque Terre, where more gorgeous Ligurian scenery awaits you!
